At the annual chalk on the walk event, students from kindergarten to 8th grade display their artistic ability. Using sidewalk squares and and chalk, they could choose any variety of subjects to draw.

The winners of chalk on the walk for kindergarten through 2nd grade were New Concord student Megan Lashley and New Concord student Grace Allred. Winners for 3rd-5th grade were Bailey Jennings and Christiana Holmes. 6th-8th grade winners were Isabella Trujillo and Mallory McPeck. They received prizes chosen by elementary art teacher Julie Goodall. Prizes included 2 passes for each winner to the zanesville museum of art, various crayola products, portfolio cases, sketchbooks, drawing boards, oil pastels, sharpies, along with many other wonderful supplies. The judges for this event were Carrie Turner, Misty Johnson  and Cassie  Perkins.

Chalk on the walk is a great experience to showcase artistic ability and meet new people who have the same passions. Make sure to stop by next year to see the children in action and their fantastic art.
