The John Glenn High School football team is having newfound success. “It’s Time” are the two words Coach Matt Edwards of the John Glenn High School Football team would use to describe this season. The JGHS football team has stepped up to prove that they have been working hard to be better than last year. Through tough practices and dedication, they are continuing to get better under Edwards’ leadership. Coach Edwards loves the challenge he is faced with every Friday night.

Edwards is finally starting to see the foundation he has been working to form these past few seasons. The first football game was exciting and empowering for the Muskies. The fans, the band, the cheerleaders, and the football team all saw the beginning of a good season. As games have went on, excitement has only increased throughout the halls of John Glenn High School. Ben Larson says the most memorable game of the season so far was the game against Sheridan. It was a great team win, especially on Senior Night. Everyone is excited to see how far the Muskies are going to take us this year. The boys have no doubt we will continue to succeed.

Football is a sport that you have to have a love for the game to succeed. The players have to be willing to put in the time and effort to be great. You can't do that without forming some bonds along the way. Spending hours together and being able to understand how much time has been put in to succeed creates a lot of friendships.Caden Harris’s favorite thing about football is, “forming a bond with his teammates. It is a brotherhood that will last a long time, that we can all appreciate.” The reason Harris started to play football was because he watched football with his family as a kid, and he learned to love the game, Ben Larson said the same.

There are many life skills that football teaches. It teaches things such as mental toughness, hardwork and dedication. If you want to be successful, you have to keep working to achieve you goals. The football team will keep climbing to success, as their record is 3-1. Week 4 was a tough loss against the Philo Electrics, but John Glenn is preparing for week 5 as they host the Maysville Panthers at home for their homecoming game. 1T’S T1ME!
