Fall Sports Roundup

With fall coming to a close, some of our fall sports here at John Glenn High School are wrapping up or heading to tournaments. Here are some updates about our fall sports teams.

First we have football. The muskies got off to a 3-0 start beating their opponents; Meadowbrook, Cambridge, and Sheridan by the scores of 48-6, 35-0, and 30-26. In week 4, the Muskies took a tough, hard fought loss from the Philo Electrics with a score of 17-28. Then in week 5, John Glenn came out with a big win against the Panthers of Maysville High School with a shutout score of 44-0. Week 6 the Muskies traveled to West Muskingum to take on the Tornadoes and came on top with the 53-0 win. Week 7 will bring the Morgan Raiders to play John Glenn at home. Week 8 the Muskies travel to take on the number 1 seed in the MVL, the Tri-Valley Dawgs. Week 9 the Muskies play the New Lexington Panthers at home. And, in week 10 to wrap up the regular season the Muskies will take a trip to Crooksville to play the Ceramics. Right now the muskies have a record of 3-1 in the MVL and 5-1 overall.

Next we have Volleyball. The muskies have an overall record of 11-4 and a MVL record of 8-3. The Muskies only MVL losses have came from Sheridan twice and Tri Valley. The Muskies are going to be rounding out the MVL season with games against Philo, Maysville, Tri Valley, New Lex and Morgan.

The boys soccer team is in second place in the MVL right now after a tough 2-0 loss to Tri Valley when they were tied for the first place spot. The girls team is now in first place in the MVL after defeating Tri Valley 2-0 in a battle for first place. Both teams have two MVL regular season games left which are against Philo and Morgan.  

The boys cross country placed first in the Cambridge Invitational with Dylan Curtis placing first overall. The girls and boys cross country teams will be finishing up the regular season with the Sheridan invitational then they will have MVL’s and Districts.
